Day 5 - Off to the beach - Hua Hin

Today we caught the train south to Hua Hin - a beautiful beach town! We were told the train would be 3 hours, the train timetable said 4 hours, so I guess it makes sense we arrived after 5 hours! But it was worth it - both for the final destination and the views from the train.
We got picked up by a Dutch man, John, who took us to his hostel, close to the beach and the night markets. We spent the afternoon wandering the beach, which took us past the Stone Head named in 1911, and having lunch on one of the long piers that line the coast. Liv departed from the usual vegetable fried rice and had a spicy mushroom and lemon-grass soup - yum! Adam, also departing from his usual chilli-overload, had a bowlfull of fresh mussels.

Tonight we went to the night markets, where we had yet another delicious dinner, and found some more new fruit to try. Even though we didn't come to Asia to shop (our budget restricts this!) we love strolling the markets anyway. Tonight we both bought some 'fisherman' pants - which are ultra light cotton shorts, taking our grand total of clothing purchases to a pair of jandals and a pair of shorts each!
